IMPULSE

IMPULSE The chemical plant of the future

As the flagship of the 6th European Framework Program (RP6) and with financial support from the European Commission amounting to 10.5 Mio €, the project IMPULSE targets at the utilization of (micro)structured equipment as a key for the development of innovative chemical plants of tomorrow. The IMM and particularly its Mixing and Fine Chemistry Department have a major share in this endeavor. On one hand, IMM is responsible for the development and manufacture of microstructured reactors and, on the other hand, IMM is also involved in process development for various application areas. Finally, the IMM is also sharing the responsibility to establish pilot installations. The main focus of the IMM thereby is in the application areas of ionic liquids synthesis, emulsification, electrochemistry, and micro encapsulation.
